IntegrativeOncology-Essentials (“IOE”) was founded by Dr. Brian Lawenda, in June 2010, as a resource for patients, caregivers and healthcare practitioners to learn more about integrative approaches to cancer prevention and care.

We don’t intend for the IOE to be encyclopedic. Instead, our mission is focusing on being your ‘go to’ site for learning useful, timely, practical and easy to understand information on key topics in integrative cancer care (thus our slogan, “Integrative Answers to Cancer”.)
The IOE logo was designed around the “prevention symbol,” as we believe that prevention serves as one of the core concept of integrative oncology:

- prevention of side effects and complications
- prevention of new cancers
